About the CEO and Founder
Dorcy Pruter
Dorcy Pruter is a globally recognized reunification coach, a court-approved expert witness in multiple jurisdictions, and the Founder and CEO of the Conscious Co-Parenting Institute. She is a pioneer in ending the generational trauma caused by high-conflict custody battles and pathogenic parenting. As a formerly alienated child, a conscious co-parent, and a testifying expert on the reunification process, Dorcy brings unmatched insight, credibility, and compassion to families navigating the devastating impact of parent-child cutoffs.

Through her original programs, reunification protocols, and legal-consulting frameworks, Dorcy has transformed thousands of lives around the world—reconnecting parents and children, educating professionals, and training court systems on how to identify and interrupt emotional abuse in custody cases. She is the creator of The D.O.R.C.Y. Method™, a comprehensive reunification and recovery model that bridges the worlds of psychology, coaching, and family law.
Her approach is direct, non-traditional, and grounded in results. As she often says, "Failure is not an option. Families can and do heal. They just need the right roadmap."
Where It All Started: Dorcy's Personal Journey
From Alienated Daughter To Family Reunification Leader
Dorcy knows this path because she lived it. As a child, she was cut off from her father for many years, manipulated by the very dynamics she now helps parents understand and unravel. When her father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Dorcy made a choice: to heal their relationship and make peace before it was too late. That decision not only transformed her life, but it also became the seed of the Conscious Co-Parenting Institute.
Reunited
Their reunification journey was not easy. It took humility, insight, and an unwavering refusal to let emotional abuse define her family legacy. In the end, not only did Dorcy heal her relationship with her dad, she also helped him reunite with his other alienated adult children as well. Today, she uses those lived experiences to guide others through the same process, fast-tracking healing and reconnection for families in crisis.
Trusted by Families, Respected by Professionals
Since 2006, Dorcy has coached and consulted on hundreds of complex custody and alienation cases, both nationally and internationally. She collaborates with attorneys, therapists, guardians ad litem, and family court professionals to create custody and parenting plans that stop the cycle of trauma and center the child’s best interest—a loving relationship with both parents.
What makes her method different is that it works. Dorcy is known for producing rapid, sustainable reunifications, even in cases where parents were told by "experts" that nothing could be done. Her clients will tell you: she holds nothing back, and she never gives up on a child-parent bond.

"Parents and children are suffering at the hands of a vile pathogen—one that robbed me of my childhood, and continues to try and rob others. But there is hope. There is healing. And together, we can end the cycle."
