I cut off contact with my father when I was twelve. Not because of a custody battle. Not because someone told me to. I did it because I didn't know how to stay in a relationship that felt too heavy for the child I was.
I didn't speak to him for years. I was the "alienated child."
I reunited with my father before he passed in 2013. We had nine years together. That experience is the foundation of everything I teach.
I know what the parent was doing that made it hard for me to return. I know what shifted that made it finally possible.

Why I Built CCPI.
I built the Conscious Co-Parenting Institute in 2006 because no roadmap existed for families in this situation.
Most resources assume a standard divorce. They assume an alienating co-parent. They assume a custody order. But parent-child cutoff is different. It's a specific family pathology.
Our mission is to end the suffering for parents and children. We do that by providing the exact system to rebuild the relationship.
