The Truth About High Road to Reunification, Conscious Co-Parenting Institute, and Dorcy Pruter

Setting the Record Straight

Since 2006, I’ve dedicated my life to helping families heal after the pain of divorce and psychological split.
Through the High Road to Reunification™ program and the Conscious Co-Parenting Institute, I have worked with courts, clinicians, and parents to restore relationships and protect children from enduring trauma and abuse.

Unfortunately, as public awareness of family-court reform has grown, so has online misinformation.
Over the years, false statements about me and my work have circulated on blogs, social media, and unofficial websites.
This post is not about blame; it’s about truth, transparency, and accountability.

What’s True and What’s Not

1. The High Road to Reunification™ is not a “camp”

It is an evidence-based, trauma-informed coaching and skill-building workshop designed to stabilize a child’s attachment system after high-conflict custody cases.
It is not a residential camp, and no part of the program involves isolation, coercion, or removal from safe environments.
Every family is referred through court order or licensed mental-health professionals and follows child-safety and ethical standards.

2. No court has ever found me or my company liable for misconduct, fraud, or abuse

Several online posts cite civil filings to suggest wrongdoing.
Here are the verifiable facts:

  • Breen v. Pruter – I WON! No findings of fraud, misconduct, or liability. Breen’s appeal was also denied, and I won that as well.
  • Noble v. Dorcy Inc. – Dismissed! No findings of harassment or wrongdoing.
  • All other referenced matters were resolved without any adverse judgments or findings of any wrongdoing.

Public filings exist because family-court work is highly charged, and filed complaints are not proof of guilt.
Facts and court outcomes matter.

3. I do not “return abused children to abusers”

That claim is false and damaging.
The High Road program does not work with verified child-abuse cases.
Every referral is reviewed to ensure there are no active or substantiated abuse findings.
The mission has always been to protect children’s safety while restoring healthy, secure attachment to both parents whenever possible.

4. I have never been “canceled” by any professional organization

Dr. Craig Childress and I were approved to present research to the American Psychological Association (APA).
While the presentation did not include continuing-education credit (due to organizational policy), it was not canceled, nor were we removed from any program.

5. Unauthorized websites and impersonations

Domains and social pages using our program name, such as variants of highroadtoreunification.com are not owned or endorsed by me or my organization.
These pages misrepresent our work and violate our intellectual property.
Our only official sites are:

6. A discredited statement that continues to circulate

One quote that has been repeatedly reposted online under “Survivor Stories” claims that during a High Road session, I physically restrained a participant and threatened “wilderness camp.”
That account was reviewed in full during court proceedings in 2018 and found to be unfounded.
The court rejected it as evidence,
and it was stricken from the record.
Despite that outcome, the stricken letter is constantly being posted on misleading websites and social media posts using the same paragraph as recently as October 2025.

To be clear:

  • No physical contact or force was used or permitted.
  • The High Road protocol prohibits any coercive tactics and operates only under court authorization and child-safety standards.
  • Any additional programs like “wilderness camp” or other forms of treatment would be determined by the custodial parent, court, and treating mental health professionals, and not ordered by me or my company.

7. Clarifying Our Professional Presentations at APA and AFCC

Dr. Craig Childress and I have both presented at major professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC).

Contrary to repeated online claims, neither of us was “kicked out,” “banned,” or “disqualified.”
Our APA and AFCC presentations were accepted following standard review processes. Because of the online haters’ continued harassment of the organizations, the AFCC later chose not to offer continuing-education (CE) credits for reasons related to their internal CE-provider requirements, not because our content failed to meet scientific or ethical standards.

Our sessions focused on attachment-based family systems theory, child psychological abuse, and structured reunification models, drawing from well-established psychological constructs. The information was and remains fully aligned with accepted trauma-informed practice.

We continue to collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and legal professionals who share our goal of improving outcomes for children affected by family conflict. Transparency, professional dialogue, and evidence-based education are central to that mission.

Misinformation of this kind harms public understanding of reunification work and discourages families from seeking legitimate, trauma-informed help.

Our Record Speaks for Itself

For twenty years, families have trusted me and my team to guide them through the most painful chapter of their lives.
Thousands of parents and children have successfully reunited using the High Road and Conscious Co-Parenting Institute models, which integrate:

  • Attachment-based family systems theory
  • Trauma-informed coaching
  • Structured reunification protocols grounded in the accepted constructs from the American Psychological Association and the International Association of Coaches.

We collaborate with licensed therapists, guardians ad litem, and courts worldwide.
Every step is documented, ethical, and child-centered.

Why I’m Speaking Out

Silence allows misinformation to grow.
Online narratives that mischaracterize my work don’t just harm my reputation; they harm the families who need help but become afraid to seek it.

The internet is filled with emotionally charged opinions about family law, yet few of those voices actually work inside the system, see the children, or understand the science of attachment trauma. The online naysayers and false statements about me are from people who do not have firsthand knowledge of my work, have never had a conversation with me, have not reviewed my programs, and simply continue to push forth false and misleading information about me, my company, and our programs to fuel their belief system.
That’s why I’m standing firm in truth and transparency.

If you ever have questions about what we do, I invite you to ask directly.
You deserve real information, not recycled rumors.

A Message to Families and Professionals

If you’ve been confused by what you’ve read online, I encourage you to look deeper.
Check court records, verify case outcomes, and speak to the professionals who have worked alongside me.
Facts tell a very different story, one of integrity, compassion, and measurable success.

Truth Heals. Fear Divides.

I remain committed to advancing ethical, science-based reunification and to protecting children from enduring psychological harm.
For every family who chooses the path of healing, welcome home.
